Pasquale Romano, CEO of ChargePoint – the company with the nation’s largest electric vehicle charging network – released the following statement on tomorrow’s third annual National Plug In Day.


Fuji Electric Corp. of America announced that they have reached the 1000th charging session on their Electric Vehicle Charging Station at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Dana Point/San Juan Capistrano, CA, marking a major milestone for the electronics manufacturer and the EV industry in the US. The station was the first publicly available DC Quick Charger on the ChargePoint® Network upon its introduction in November 2012, and has become one of the busiest charging stations on the West coast. Owned and operated by EV-integrator Evoasis, it is conveniently located along the I-5 interstate, offering electric vehicle drivers a quick and easy 20-30 minute charging experience.


SB 286 would extend through 2018the white sticker program that allows Inherently Low Emission Vehicles and Transitional Zero Emission Vehicles, such as plug-in hybrid vehicles to access the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) highway lanes, while AB 266 extends the green sticker program which does the same for electric, hydrogen, and natural gas-fueled cars. This will help to encourage the purchases of these vehicles, reducing California’s carbon footprint and petroleum consumption, while being of benefit to our economy.


ChargePoint Vice President of Marketing Dimitrios Papadogonas will join a panel of experts for a conference held by Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) entitled “Pathway to 2050 – Achieving California’s Advanced Energy Goals.” Papadogonas will be joined by an array of leaders from the business, political and investment communities to discuss the challenges and opportunities in meeting the state’s energy goals through secure, clean and affordable energy solutions.


Today, ChargePoint CEO Pat Romano joined San José Mayor Chuck Reed to celebrate their five-year partnership and the growing electric vehicle (EV) industry. In 2008, the City of San José became ChargePoint’s first customer and one of the first cities nationwide to install an electric vehicle (EV) charging station. To celebrate this landmark occasion, ChargePoint is providing the city with one of their newest charging stations from the recently announced CT4000 Series.

This revolutionary new product is the first charging station to meet the needs of the expanding EV market, specifically addressing two major obstacles – the cost of installation and the growing demand for charging spots.


ChargePoint, Inc. today announced the completion of its ChargePoint America Program with more than 4600 shipments and installations of its home, public and commercial charging ports for electric vehicles (EVs). In May 2010, ChargePoint was awarded a $15 million dollar matching grant funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the Transportation Electrification Initiative administered by the Department of Energy. Additionally, the California Energy Commission allocated $3.4 million in funding for the installation of residential and public electric vehicle charging infrastructure within California.



ChargePoint, the world’s largest network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and the services division of North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA today announced a reseller agreement. Under terms of the agreement SYLVANIA Lighting Services (SLS), a subsidiary of OSRAM SYLVANIA and leader in lighting installation and energy management solutions, will sell and install commercial and public ChargePoint EV charging stations in the United States. SYLVANIA Lighting Services is an established ChargePoint installer, having recently installed 33 EV charging stations in the City of Austin, Texas.
