Last week, we unveiled the ChargePoint Express 100, a new 24 kW output DC fast charger that allows electric vehicle (EV) drivers to recharge their cars in just 20 to 40 minutes. Wondering what the “100” refers to? It’s the estimated, maximum number of miles of Range Per Hour, or “RPH,” that the charging station can deliver. RPH is the new metric by which we’re measuring the power of our EV chargers and by which drivers can estimate how far they can go after plugging in. And with the ChargePoint mobile app, drivers can see how many miles they’ve added in real time.

With ChargePoint Home, ChargePoint Multi-family Service, ChargePoint Commercial and ChargePoint Express, ChargePoint offers an electric vehicle (EV) charging station for every business, every location, and every EV driver. With ChargePoint, drivers can charge at home, at work, around town and out of town. The newest station, Express 100 , a 24kW output station, provides drivers a quick place to recharge and offers an affordable and compact DC fast charger for businesses including retail locations, restaurants and convenience stores.

We all know electric vehicles (EV) have enormous environmental advantages over gas vehicles. Plug-in EVs reduce carbon-based greenhouse gases, improve air quality and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. EV drivers on the ChargePoint network have had a huge environmental impact. With over 9 million charging sessions delivering 65 gigawatt hours of energy, EV drivers have avoided over 60 million pounds of CO2 and 8.2 million gallons of gasoline, and driven over 196 million gas-free miles.

Australian-based Tritium today announced it has signed an exclusive U.S. contract with ChargePoint. ChargePoint will install Tritium’s award-winning DC fast charging stations, the Veefil across the country. The fast charging stations have a power output of 50kW and can deliver up to 80 miles or 128 kilometers in just 20 minutes.
