Coulomb Technologies, the leader in networked charging station infrastructure, today announced that smart USA has selected Coulomb Technologies as its preferred supplier of charging stations for the company's smart fortwo electric drive vehicles. Coulomb's ChargePoint® Networked Charging Stations for plug-in electric vehicles will be sold through the smart USA dealer network for business, consumer and home charging. As smart USA establishes the sales of its electric drive vehicles, Coulomb will provide charging stations and charge management software, and Coulomb's network of distributors will handle installation, service and warranty coverage.

The public utility in Bochum has activated five charging stations installed by distribution partner 365 Energy Group. GridPoint, Inc., an established leader in smart grid software, and Coulomb Technologies today unveiled the first ever smart grid enabled smart charging stations for electric vehicles. The integrated solution using Coulomb's ChargePoint™ Networked Charging Stations for plug-in electric vehicles and GridPoint's smart charging software application extends municipalities and utilities ability to manage vehicle-charging load. Utilities and municipalities will now have a networked infrastructure solution that easily and rapidly adapts to critical grid events while prioritizing the need to provide fuel for electric vehicles. In times of peak demand or during critical grid events, utilities are able to utilize public charging infrastructure to manage the electricity load. Demand response events can be dispatched system-wide or targeted to specific locations within the distribution system. The first integrated solution of smart grid charging stations are now on display for demonstration at the Plug-in 2009 conference in Long Beach, California in booths 215 (Coulomb) and 409 (GridPoint).

Coulomb Technologies congratulates Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation (eTec), a subsidiary of ECOtality (OTCBB: ETLY), on the award of their U.S. Department of Energy grant of approximately $99.8 million. The grant will allow eTec to undertake the largest deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure in U.S. history. eTec will install electric vehicle charging infrastructure and deploy up to 1,000 Nissan battery electric vehicles in five states: Arizona, California, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington and install approximately 12,500 Level 2 (220V) charging systems and 250 Level 3 (fast-charge) systems.

DMC Green, Inc. announced today that they have opened the first electric vehicle charging station in West Sacramento, CA. The DMC-owned charging station, featuring a Coulomb Technologies ChargePoint™ Networked Charging Station, is the first of 40 DMC charging stations now in contract scheduled for installation throughout California.

McDonald's Corporation, the leading global foodservice retailer, and NovaCharge, a leader in the deployment of EV charging infrastructure, today announced the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations. McDonald's will open the first 'green' restaurant, built with eco-friendly materials and technologies, including ChargePoint™ Networked Charging Stations for electric vehicles from Coulomb Technologies, making it the first of its kind in the United States.

Coulomb Technologies today announced that the County of Sonoma, CA has become the fourth Bay Area location to deploy their ChargePoint™ Networked Charging Stations for electric vehicles. The seven charging stations are now installed throughout the County and will be used for fleet and consumer use. Along with several regional partners, the Sonoma County has applied for grant funding to install up to 200 additional stations in the next two years. Coulomb's charging stations will be officially unveiled to the public in a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 9:00am at Sonoma County Hall of Justice (600 Administration Drive) in Santa Rosa, CA. The EV stations are at the extreme east end, adjacent to Ventura Ave.
