Charging Your Energica Motorcycle at Home

This part is easy. A Level 2 home EV charger like ChargePoint Home Flex will charge all Energica motorcycles to full range in about 3 hours, making owning an electric motorcycle even easier and more convenient. A basic Level 1 charger, or simple wall outlet, will also charge these models but will take much longer.

Tip: If you don’t live in a single-family home, we can help you get EV charging at your  apartment or condo, as well as find places to charge around town with the  ChargePoint app.

Charging Your Energica Motorcycle at Work and Around Town

When you’re charging outside the house (if you are able to go anywhere safely during the COVID-19 pandemic!), charging at work is usually the most convenient option because you can leave your vehicle to get a full charge while it’s sitting in the lot anyway. More and more workplaces have been adding EV charging as an added benefit for their employees as EVs become increasingly popular. If you’re looking for EV charging and your workplace doesn’t have stations yet, ask your facilities or property manager and you might soon be able to charge at work... whenever you go back to the office, that is.

Energica Motorcycles

To the extent that they’re open, you can find places to charge at restaurants, stores and other places around town in the ChargePoint app. Many businesses want you to spend more time in their stores by offering charging for their customers. So, even if your favorite store doesn’t yet have charging, it may soon be a reality. All our public stations are compatible with J1772 charging ports so every EV on the market, including all Energica motorcycle makes and models, can charge at ChargePoint stations. Once you get to your charging destination, simply tap your phone on the station to start charging so you can go about your day.

Fast Charging the Energica Motorcycle

DC fast charging gives EV drivers more flexibility to go where they want and be able to get a lot of range quickly, and it's ideal for long rides on your electric motorcycle. All Energica models have DC fast charging capability (using the CCS connector) and can charge to 80% range in 40 minutes, getting you back on the road faster. Make sure you choose the Energica model you have when signing up for the ChargePoint app and we'll show the fast charging spots that will work for your motorcycle.

How much will it cost to charge an Energica?

It will cost** about $2.41 to add about 100 miles to both the Energica EGO and EsseEsse9 models and about $3.87 for the Eva Ribelle. This is pretty average for other electric vehicles with similar range, and much cheaper than driving a gas car. Keep in mind that the price of charging is set by the station owner and many stations offer free or discounted charging, so you could be paying even less. The ChargePoint app will show you the latest pricing and station info when searching for places to charge so everything you need to know is in one place. You can also use our EV savings calculator to see how much you could save by driving electric.

Energica Ego

The cost of charging at home will differ based on how much you drive and the price of electricity in your area, but it will most likely be cheaper than gas. If you buy an EV or home charger, you may be eligible for incentives in your state (including a 30% tax credit for home charger and installation) or a special EV charging rate plan.

What’s Next for Energica

According to the company's website, “Energica core R&D activities are aimed to achieving knowledge to design new products and improve the ones already on sale.” The electric motorcycle company has a bright future in creating and developing electric race bikes since being chosen as the sole manufacturer for the FIM Enel MotoETM World Cup, a racing series featuring only electric motorcycles. As for their everyday bikes, this year Energica re-released the Ego with better range and power so their future definitely looks bright.
